ITINERARY
7:00 am Board your bus from Guatemala City, San Pedro Sula Honduras, or San Salvador City.
Those traveling from San Pedro Sula will arrive in Puerto Barrios at 11:00 am and will board their maritime transport to arrive in Livingston at 12:00 pm. Lunch at the hotel and free afternoon in the town of Livingston.
7:00 pm Dinner at the hotel.
Those traveling from Guatemala City or San Salvador City will arrive in Puerto Barrios at 1:00 pm. Lunch at "Alex House".
2:00 pm Board your maritime transport and arrive in Livingston. Free afternoon.
7:00 pm Dinner at the hotel.
8:30 am Breakfast at the hotel.
10:00 am Board your boat for the one-day tour to "7 Altares and Playa Blanca" (Box lunch, cold water, soft drinks, and seasonal fruit included).
2:30 pm Return to the hotel to rest and prepare for a 6:00 pm authentic "Garifuna" dinner at Diana's Restaurant, accompanied by live music.
8:30 am Breakfast at the hotel.
10:00 am Board your boat for the Rio Dulce tour, visiting Hot Springs (where you can bathe), El Golfete, Bird Island, and Maya Tenamit (where you can swim and use kayaks to navigate the mangroves).
On this tour, with luck, you can see fishermen at their daily tasks, sometimes manatees or sea cows, and when saltwater enters the river, some dolphins in El Golfete. You can also visit the Lagoon of the Lilies and see birds of the region.
1:30 pm Lunch at the Maya Tenamit restaurant, cattle ranch-style or fresh Rio Dulce mojarra fish.
Interesting fact: The beginning of the movie "Jurassic Park II" was filmed in the Rio Dulce Canyon.
3:00 pm Return to the hotel to rest and buy souvenirs, crafts, or art.
6:00 pm Dinner at the hotel.
8:00 pm Live music to say goodbye to a unique experience in one of Livingston, Guatemala's best-kept secrets.
8:00 am Breakfast at the hotel.
9:00 am Board your boat for the return to Puerto Barrios.
10:00 am Board your bus back home.
End of the tour.
